DIY FABRIC HEADBOARD
- Determine Headboard Size and Cut Fabric:
My Frames sizes measured 31 inches long and 24 inched high. Both frames together 62 inched. I had 2 panels of 2 yards of fabric from walmart. I decided to double it since I had enough fabric to cover the headboard. - Construct Headboard Frame:
I took my 2 picture frames an bound them together using wood glue. I held them into place using painters tape until they dried. I also mounted the metal picture hooks. - Line Frame With Foam:
Trim foam to fit snugly within headboard frame. - Cover Foam With Batting: Spread 2 layers of batting over foam.
- Cover Batting With Fabric:
Center fabric panel over batting and frame with at least four inches excess extending beyond all sides. - Create Finished Corners:
Fold under excess fabric at each corner to create a clean corner.Used staple gun to hold fold to secure. - Staple Fabric to Frame Staple fabric to top and bottom edges of headboard.
- Attach to Wall:
I used 30 pound picture hooks to mount my frame to the wall.
